IAF Air Show: Chinook Helicopters, Fighter Aircrafts Roar Over Dal Lake In Srinagar

Apparently, the event, titled “Give Wings to Your Dreams” also hosted a photo exhibition at the venue to highlight the history of IAF.

After a gap of 13 years, Srinagar skies came alive on Sunday when Suryakiran Aerobatic Display Team performed in the valley with the picturesque Dal Lake as a backdrop as part of the ongoing celebrations to commemorate ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’

The Indian Air Force conducted an air show in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir government to attract youth towards the aviation sector and also to boost Kashmir tourism.

Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of J&K flagged off the event from the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre located on the banks of Dal Lake.

The display included fly-past by various aircrafts of the Indian Air Force including the fighter aircrafts and Chinook helicopters. The spectators also witnessed para-motor flying and Indian Air Force’s Skydiving team ‘Akash Ganga’ in action.

The event was attended by hundreds of school children, who were seen arriving at the venue in crisp uniforms. Besides, symphony orchestra of the IAF also performed in the event.
