Indian Army Conducts First-Ever Women Cycle Rally To Promote Women Empowerment In Kashmir

The 65 Km cycle rally started from Baramulla and terminated at Line of Control near Kaman Aman Setu, Uri.

The Indian Army has been consciously working towards women empowerment in Kashmir through various Sporting events.  

The Army organized ‘Ride Kashmir’ women cycle rally at Baramulla on 12th September.

The 65 Km cycle rally started from Baramulla and terminated at Line of Control near Kaman Aman Setu, Uri.

This was the first time in Kashmir that an exclusive women’s only cycling event of this magnitude was organized.

Nearly 140 women from across the country pedaled all the way from Baramulla. Noted model actor and sports enthusiast Milind Soman along with his wife Ankita Konwar flagged off the event.

The Army will continue engaging the youth and provide requisite sporting platforms for them to achieve their potential.

Moreover, as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Indian Army has established a women empowerment centre at village Bernate along the Line of Control at Boniyaar block of Baramulla district, North Kashmir.
