The constituents of the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration arrived at former Union Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah’s Gupkar residence on June 22 for a joint meeting.
After multiple deliberations, the PAGD has decided that they will attend the all-party meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 24.
An all-party meeting is scheduled for June 24 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which the parties and leaders of Jammu and Kashmir have been invited.
The agenda of the meeting held at Abdullah’s residence was to discuss the invitation for the all party Meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi that is scheduled for June 24.
After consultations, the PAGD addressed the media to announce the conglomerate’s decision.
Farooq Abdullah said that they will attend the meeting called by the Prime Minister. He asserted that their agenda is known to all and will remain the same.
PDP party president Mehbooba Mufti also pointed out her agenda for the all-party meeting and focused particularly on the state’s autonomy.
The all-party meeting will be PM Modi’s first interaction with political parties of Jammu and Kashmir since August 5, 2019, when the central government abrogated the state’s special status and bifurcated it into Union Territories.
The PAGD, a conglomerate of six political parties, was formed a year later, in October 2020, to fight for the restoration of Kashmir’s status pre-August 5, 2019.
