Amazon Prime Video has unveiled the title of their upcoming multi-season The Lord Of The Ring series. It has been titled The Lord Of Rings: The Rings Of Power. The much-awaited series will debut on September 2 in over 200 countries, and the episodes will be released weekly.
The producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay said in a statement that the series will unite “all the major stories of Middle-earth’s Second Age”, including the making of the rings, rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the tale of Numenor and the last alliance of Elves and Men.
Amazon Prime has released a title video of the series with letters created in metal at a foundry.
The series is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R Tolkein’s The Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit Fantasy novels. According To Amazon Prime Video India, “it will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.”
