Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray launched multiple attacks on rebel Shiv Sena MLAs amid the Maharashtra political crisis. From calling rebel MLAs “dirt” to accusing them of “betrayal”, the Shiv Sena leader was seen in a fierce fight amid the political battle. He had told ANI that he is confident Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will be victorious as they have people’s love. Aaditya had also claimed that 15 rebel MLAs were with Shiv Sena & wanted to come back.

“Many people told us that Congress and NCP will betray us, but our people betrayed us. Many MLAs who were watchmen, rickshaw drivers, and paan shopkeepers – we made them Ministers. On May 20, Uddhav Thackeray offered him (Eknath Shinde) the CM post and he did drama,” stated an agitated Thackeray.

Aaditya Thackeray’s Political Journey

Thackeray is the son of Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray & grandson of Shiv Sena supremo late Bal Thackeray. He is the cabinet minister of higher education, tourism & environment for the government of Maharashtra. An L.L.B from Mumbai’s Kishinchand Chellaram Law College, Thackeray made foray into politics in the year 2010 as the president of Shiv Sena’s youth wing, Yuva Sena. 

He was elected as President of Mumbai District Football Association in 2017. The young politician was chosen as Shiv Sena leader in 2018. In October 2019, the Thackeray scion won Maharashtra Legislative Elections from Worli becoming the first member of Thackeray family to contest & win an election.
