PM Modi In Varanasi: ‘Unparalleled’ Handling Of Covid-19 Crisis, PM Modi Lauds CM Yogi Adityanath

Ahead of the high-stake Uttar Pradesh elections next year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited his constituency, Varanasi, on15th July, to inaugurate various projects, including the International Cooperation and Convention Centre’s (VCC) ‘Rudraksh’. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and state ministers were also present on the occasion.

While addressing the crowd at the Banaras Hindu University, Prime Minister Modi heaped praises on Uttar Pradesh’s handling of the Covid-19 crisis, calling it “unparalleled”. PM Modi gave credit to chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s efficient handling of the pandemic and said that the state stood up and battled the virus efficiently. PM Modi added that the Covid-19 management in the state was worthy of praise.

The prime minister also expressed his gratitude to healthcare and frontline workers of the state who worked day and night to save lives in the pandemic. PM Modi also lauded Uttar Pradesh as the state has built up medical infrastructure in a record span of time during the pandemic. Narendra Modi praised the UP government for its efforts to strengthen the law and order in the state.

The Prime Minister’s praise for the UP government comes just a day after the Supreme Court questioned the rationale behind the nod to Kanwar Yatra in the state even as neighbouring Uttarakhand called it off in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and a possible third wave.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated projects worth around Rs 744 crore and laid the foundation stones of several projects and public works worth about Rs 839 crore.
