The Indian women’s hockey team may have missed the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics after a narrow defeat to Great Britain, but they have made the entire nation proud. The country is lauding them for their grit, determination and effort that made the team reach this far in the game.
PM Modi spoke to the team and even consoled the emotional members. He said that, “even though they could not bring a medal for India, their sweat and hard work has become a source of motivation for millions of daughters of the nation.”
He added that, “it is a result of the team’s hard work that they reached this far in the event.”
The PM even enquired about player Navneet Kaur, who had an injury in her eye, before consoling the team and lauding them once again.
Earlier, PM Modi had praised the Indian women’s hockey team for its courage, skill, resilience and said that the country will always remember the team for its great performance.
