An alert Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel saved a life of a passenger on May 11.

RPF head constable, S Munda, rescued a lady passenger who fell into a gap between the platform and the train at Odisha’s Bhubaneswar Railway Station. The passenger has been identified as 58-year-old K Saraswati.

According to a report published in the The Times of India, Saraswati is from the Ichhapur locality in Andhra Pradesh.

She fell from the Palasa-Cuttack MEMU passenger (18444) train while deboarding it. The video of the incident soon went viral on social media.

Apart from Sarawati, another woman also fell with her while getting down from the train. The incident took place at around 10:10 am on Wednesday, i.e. May 11 at platform number 3 of the station.

Sudhanshu Sarangi, additional DG of police, railway and coastal security, also shared the CCTV video of the incident. He said praised Munda for his brave effort. Sarangi wrote, “Great work by head constable Sunaram Munda of RPF today at Bhubaneswar railway station. He saved the life of a woman passenger.”
