Young Buddhist Monks Being Educated on Teachings Of Tibetan Buddhism At Shimla Monastery

Buddhist Boy monks of Dorjeedak lineage are being educated at Shimla monastery to become masters in Buddhist practices and preserve the teachings of Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism.

Young Buddhist Lamas in Shimla are working towards preserving and promoting the teachings of Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism.

Around 100 Buddhist boy monks of Dorjeedak lineage are being educated at the Shimla monastery to become masters in Buddhist practices post a degree course of 9 years called Shedra.

They are educated about the scriptures of the Northern treasure teachings of the monastery.

These Buddhist Lamas, many of whom are from the Himalayan region of Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet, also receive their education in modern day subjects like Science, Mathematics, English.
