Bhat, a civil engineer by qualification, scored 225th all India rank in the exam, making his village and family proud.
Neighbours and friends have been thronging his house to congratulate him on the achievement ever since the UPSC results came out.
Bhat, who got inclined towards studying for UPSC during his college days at NIT, wants to work for the welfare of the public, especially marginalised groups.
