India reported 34,457 new Covid-19 cases, 375 deaths, and 36,347 recoveries in the last 24 hours. India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage crosses 57.61 crores.
Active cases constitute 1.12% of total cases, which is the lowest since March 2020.
Active case tally now stands at 3,61,340, which is the lowest in the last 151 days. The recovery rate is 97.54%; highest since March 2020. The weekly positivity rate is 1.98% less than 3% for the last 57 days.
Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, are the worst hit states. Kerala continues to drive grave concerns. The state is posting the highest number of daily covid 19 cases among all, with 20,224 covid cases & 99 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Maharashtra has the second highest numbers. The state reported a total of 4,365 covid cases & 105 deaths.
Amid rising cases, the Andhra Pradesh govt has extended Covid-19 night curfew. As per the latest notification, the night curfew will be in place from 11 pm to 6 am till September 4. The state’s health department announced that strict action will be taken on those who violate the Curfew regulations.
While the Uttar Pradesh government on Friday decided to completely lift the weekend curfew in view of declining Covid-19 cases in the state. Markets will now open normally like normal weekdays.
Delhi government has approved the Medical Oxygen Production Promotion Policy of Delhi 2021. The state government has taken this step to make Delhi self-reliant in production of Medical Oxygen and to meet oxygen crisis or medical emergencies in the future.
