Washington: Former United States President Donald Trump may launch his 2024 White House bid by next week. His top aide and long time advisor Jason Miller confirmed the piece of news on Stephen Bannon’s radio show on Friday, as reported by The Hill.
“Donald Trump is going to announce on Tuesday that he will be running for president. And it is going to be a very professional, a very buttoned announcement,” Miller told the former White House official whose radio show “War Room” he appeared on.
He said that he had a word with Trump earlier and the former US president said that there shouldn’t be any question about his intentions to take another shot at the presidency. Miller quoted Trump as saying, “Of course, I am running, I’m going to do this and I want to make sure that people know that I am fired up and we have to get the country back on track.”
Miller campaigned and worked for Trump during 2016 and 2020 presidential elections and has continued to be his advisor post presidency. Trump is expected to make an announcement at the Mara-a-Lago estate in Florida on Tuesday. As per Miller, Trump is expecting a thick crowd and hundreds of media members at the spot.
Trump’s decision comes days after US President Joe Biden deemed a Republican win in the mid-term elections as an ingredient to a weak democracy. Trump hinted at a possible presidential tenure saying “I will have to do it again but stay tuned”.
