Israel Detects A Sub Variant Of Omicron-BA2, Believed To Be Originated In India

Israel is also seeing a huge surge in covid-19 caseloads fueled by Omicron Variant, breaking the older records. One out of nine cases in Israel are reported to be of reinfections.

A Japanese study has established that a person infected with the Omicron variant of Covid-19 is most infectious between 3-6 days after the onset of symptoms.

Jerusalem: As many as 20 cases of sub variant of Omicron strain of Coronavirus were detected in Israel as per the floated information by Israeli Health Ministry.

Sub variant of Omicron strain of Covid-19, BA2 has not been identified if this sub variant is more virulent or not. This BA2 sub variant has already been defected in many other countries of the world.

“At this point, there is no evidence that indicates it behaves differently from Omicron. The Health Ministry will update the public on any relevant developments,” the ministry said in a statement as reported by The Times of Israel.

This sub variant was discovered during the genetic sequencing of sample Covid-19 Patient. It shows more mutations than Omicron and can be more violent. So far it as benign as Omicron variant of Coronavirus.

BA2 is suspected to be originated in India, however it was first seen in China and then was also seen in Australia, Canada, Singapore, Denmark as reported by KAN an Israeli public broadcasting corporation.
