New Delhi: Former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown in a new book titled “The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor – The Truth and the Turmoil”, has made claims about Prince Andrew that he spent two days alone on a luxury California estate watching porn on cable TV.

The book majorly talks about “scandals, love affairs, power plays and betrayals” that shook the British royal family for over two decades. Based on Tina Brown’s access to palace insiders, this book promises to unfold new revelations.

Brown, in her new book, has alleged that the Duke of York “was always as oversexed as a boob-ogling adolescent.”

“I am told that former US ambassador to the UK Walter Annenberg’s wife, Lee, was appalled when the Duke made a private visit in 1993 to Sunnylands, their magnificent Palm Springs estate in California, and holed up in his bedroom for two days, apparently watching porn on cable TV,” she wrote, as quoted in an excerpt published by The Telegraph.

The incident took place after the separation of Andrew and Sarah Ferguson in 1992. Their divorce was finalized in 1996. Anneberg passed away in 2009 at age 91.

Andrew was claimed to be the favorite of Queen Elizabeth II’s three sons. He was once a popular royal and he was hailed by the British press for his active service as a helicopter pilot during the Falklands War. He also had a nickname “Randy Andy” for having glamorous girlfriends.

However, Andrew started losing his popularity and he was labelled “Air Miles Andy” following the accusations that his lavish playboy lifestyle was funded by taxpayers.

His links with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislain Maxwell was seen as a reason for his downfall. In March 2001, the trio were partying together, as usual, but this time in London. “It is the events of that weekend that would seal the Duke of York’s destiny of descent and disappear him altogether into a lifelong pit of shame,” the excerpt concluded.

In January, soon after a New York judge gave the green light to a civil lawsuit by Virginia Giuffre, who alleged that Britain’s Prince Andrew sexually abused her when she was 17, the Queen’s stripped The Duke of York of his military ranks and royal patronage. The-38-year-old made allegations that she was forced to have sex with Andrew on three occasions.

In February, Andrew reached an out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre in her sex assault lawsuit against the British prince. Andrew spent years fighting with concerns about his links with Epstein, who took his life at age 66 in 2019 in a Manhattan federal lockup while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Maxwell, now 60, was convicted of related charges.

Tina Brown, in her book, has also revealed how Prince William was said to be “appalled” after Queen Elizabeth II removed a portrait of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from her desk ahead of her annual Christmas broadcast.

The incident took place in 2019 when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were in Canada. The queen, 96, was doing preparations for her televised annual Christmas broadcast. Just before the televised message, she made a last-minute change that allegedly left her grandson stunned.

“William was said to have been appalled when he saw the Sussexes had been edited out,” Brown claimed. “He knew his brother well enough to predict a Category 5 tantrum brewing.”
