New Delhi: US Vice President Kamala Harris wished everyone a “Happy Holi!” Harris took to Twitter to convey her wishes. She said Holi is best known for vibrant colours that are tossed at friends and loved ones.

Harris also said that Holi is full of joy and positivity. It is about setting aside our differences and coming together. A message that’s been embodied by communities across the world during these tough times, said Harris.

Her tweet reads, “Happy Holi! Holi is best known for vibrant colours that are tossed at friends and loved ones. Full of joy, Holi is all about positivity, setting aside our differences, and coming together. A message that’s been embodied by communities across the world during these tough times.”

Harris made history by becoming the first woman, first Black and first South Asian vice president in the nation’s history. She is the 49th Vice President of the United States.

The colourful extravaganza festival of Holi is widely celebrated not just in India but around the world. The festival which is regarded as the victory of good over evil is celebrated for 2 days.

While the first day is celebrated as Holika Dahan, the second day is Rangwali Holi/Dhulandi/Dhuleti where people play with colours. This year Holika Dahan was celebrated on March 28 while Holi is being celebrated on March 29. On the auspicious occasion of Holika Dahan, people gather around a bonfire and sing various songs.
